How to insert WhatsApp Widget to Prestashop

To insert the widget in Prestashop 1.6, you must edit the file header.tpl located in /httpdocs/themes/<Your-Theme>/header.tpl, understanding “httpdocs” as the root of the domain, and this is the case in the vast majority of cases , and replacing “<Your-Theme>” with the name of the theme being used. Finally put the script just before the </head> tag as shown in the image.

To insert the widget in Prestashop 1.7, edit the file layout-both-columns.tpl located in /httpdocs/themes/<Your-Theme>/templates/layouts/layout-both-columns.tpl, understanding “httpdocs” as the root of the domain, and this is the case in the vast majority of cases, and replacing “<Your-Theme>” with the name of the theme being used. Finally put the script just before the </head> tag as shown in the image.

Important to empty the prestashop cache in the “performance” option inside the backoffice.

How to manage multilingual WhatsApp Widget with PrestaShop

If you have a website with PrestaShop and you are using multiple languages, you can use this code to switch your widget base on the language of the user.

This code is for Prestashop 1.7

{if $language.id == 1}

YOUR WIDGET 1

{/if}
{if $language.id == 2}

YOUR WIDGET 2

{/if}

If you are using PrestaShop 1.6 you need to use this code

$this->context->language->id;

instead of $language.id
