06. WhatsApp Marketplaces

Step 1: Understand the Value of Local Marketplaces

  • Big cities are saturated (e.g. Madrid, NYC), but smaller cities have unmet demand.

  • Hyperlocal platforms can support underrepresented businesses.

Step 2: Create an Account and Your First Widget

  • Log into your Chatwith account.

  • Create your first widget — this will represent one business in your marketplace.

  • Enable the Marketplace toggle in the widget.

Step 3: Set Up Marketplace Settings

  • Go to Settings of your widget:

    • Give your marketplace a clear, specific name (e.g., Marketplace Builders Segovia Spain).

    • Choose a relevant icon (e.g., builder’s helmet).

    • Enable “Agent Big Image” if you want larger agent profile pictures.

    • Optionally enable “Show Related Businesses.”

Step 4: Add a Description and Tags

  • Set a clean and clear description of what your marketplace is about.

  • Add relevant tags/labels (e.g., construction, materials, builders).

  • These help with navigation and discovery.

Step 5: Customize the Agent Profile

  • Upload a profile photo for the business/agent.

    • Bigger photos are better for human-focused services (e.g. coaches, teachers).

  • Decide whether the agent profile is central or secondary to your use case.

Step 6: Build the Landing Page for Each Business

  • Add:

    • Phone number

    • WhatsApp (if available)

    • Email

    • Location

    • Text description of services

    • Website link (optional)

Tip: Real logos and accurate contact info boost trust and engagement.

Step 7: Clone Widgets for Additional Businesses

  • Clone your widget to speed up onboarding new businesses.

  • Update logos, agent photos, contact info, and descriptions per business.

Step 8: Manage Visibility & Info Exposure

  • Choose how much info to expose (some marketplaces show full contact details, others just generate leads).

  • You control whether users can bypass the platform or must engage through it.

Step 9: Explore Your Marketplace

  • Test navigation:

    • Use search

    • Filter by tags

    • Browse related businesses

Step 10: Monitor and Grow

  • Visit the Marketplace Ranking section to:

    • See top-performing marketplaces

    • Learn what others are doing well

    • Optimize yours accordingly
