Tired of your looking at your WhatsApp Widget automatically opening, every single time you go to your website, and want to prevent this from happening to your users?

Here we will share a couple easy steps with you, which you can use to figure out how to turn of the function, that allows your WhatsApp widget to automatically opening! 👐

Why would you want to change this?

if you have multiple agents in your Widget, your WhatsApp Widget can turn out to fill up more space on your website, which might not be that ideal for those of your visitors, who are not exactly looking for a contact option right away.

It could also be, that you have a very nice website, with a pretty cool background, which you don’t want your WhatsApp Widget to remove focus from.

Lets show an example from one of our users! 👇

ALOYA 🌿

Visit the Website here 👈

As you can see, the Widget on the website is open, and if you visit their website, you will see, that it does that automatically.

This is a very nice website, with a flawless design and it is working without any complaints 👌

In this case though, the WhatsApp Widget is interfering with the picture in the background, which disturbs the layout and takes away focus from what the user intet with the design. That us probably why, this client doesn’t want the Widget to open automatically. 🤔

There is a really easy way to change this, and here is how you do it. 👇

Step 1 – Go to Tochat.be

The first thing you have to do, is to go to our website, Tochat.be, and log in to your account. If you dont have an account yet, you can go ahead and create one for free. 😍

Tochat.be 🔥

When you are logged in, you need to go to “Widgets”, and choose the one you want to edit, which means, you need to pick the one you don’t want to automatically open on your website!

Step 2 – Go to design

When you have picked the right Widget, you need to go the the option called “design”, which lets you change a lot of different things about your WhatsApp Widget. It is also here you can turn off the function, that lets your WhatsApp Widget automatically open when entering your website! 🚀

Choose “design” 🖌

Step 3 – Turn off the function

Now you should be at the page, where you can turn off the function, that allows your WhatsApp Widget to open automatically, and you need to turn off the right switch. 🔘

The right switch ✅

The switch you want to turn off, is the one you see on the picture above, the one that says “show widget opened on page load”.

If the button is swiped to the right, and is blue/purple, this function is activated, and your widget will appear opened on your page. That is why you want to make sure, that the button is swiped to the left, and is grey, which means it is turned off! ❌

This is what it should look like, if you want your Widget to close automatically! 👇

Dont show Widget opened! ✅

Now, you only need to do one simple, but very important thing, before you have successfully changed this!

Step 4 – Remember to save and activate your changes

When you have switched off the opened Widget option it is very important that you REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR CHANGES! If you dont press “submit” at the bottom of the page, your changes wont be saved, your WhatsAp Widget will still be opened when entering your page, and you will have to do it again! 😫

When you press submit, you will also refresh the page, and it will allow you to see the changes you made right away, so you can change other things or change things back to the way they were immediately, if you change your mind. 🔄

Make other changes to the design

This not the only thing you can change under the design option. Actually, there are a lot of different things that you can change, if you feel like making your WhatsApp widget more personal.

Some of the things you can change are:

  • The color of your Widget 🌈
  • Animation 🆒
  • Position of your Widget on your website ↔️
  • Background and theme 🌄
